We actually had a solution very much like Fu Chen’s, But rather than
rely on the tube being flexible we had several Teflon rods made with machine
threads on the ends, male on one end, female on the other and thread them
together as we inserted them. The first one in had a cup on the end to cradle
the NMR tube. We could push it up from the bottom all the way to the top.
Of course, if broken shards of glass have jammed between the spinner and
the shim stack, it may not work and you have a bigger problem and may have
to remove the shim stack as someone else suggested.

the probe off, used a plastic tube (longer than the magnet, the tube inner
diameter should larger than the nmr tube, but outer diameter should not be
too large, the tube is flexible, but not too soft, you can bend the tube
from the bottom, slowly move up to catch the tube and then move up to catch
it from the top. You need another person with a flash light to shine from
the top, then you can see the tube from the bottom of the magnet, the
person can also help catch the tube when it comes out. Flash light is
magnetic, the person should hold it tightly.

stuck inside. The emergency red button does not bring the tube out; neither
does the "lift" BSMS button. Is there any other way to solve the problem
