We are investigating the alternatives for simple 1D/2D off-line
processing of NMR data. (We happen to have Varian spectrometers, so GLIDE
and VNMR come to mind.) We are particularly interested in finding a
common generic platform that most of our unsophisticated users could use
with a minimum of administrative oversight. For example, few of our users
have Sun computers, which makes the Varian product less attractive. The
obvious common denominator is a PC-based program that could handle Varian
data sets transparently or be readily modified with straightforward macros
to provide a VERY small command set to process and plot the data. The
incentive for the users is - if you process your own data you will get your
results faster.
Any experiences with this type of situation or recommendations will
be greatly appreciated. If there is a FAQ existing on this, we would like
to know!
In any event if we get a number of responses we will collate them and post the
results.
Thanks in advance.
