Al Redfield and I are writing a paper mainly on analogue
filtering of the large solvent signal combined with
gain changing, to increase dynamic range. We are also
describing how to adapt this to the DSP-with-frequency
shift input system described in J. Mag. Res. 108, 234-237(1994).
The filter/gain changer was discussed in the TAMU (NMR)
newsletters of Nov. 1989 and Dec. 1994.
We are wondering if there are well documented descriptions
of dithering data for oversampling from use of higher
spectral widths, or artificial dithering, other than the
nice paper by Billa et al, Rev. Sci Instr. 67, 2123 (1996).
We don't plan to try artificial dithering but we would like
to discuss it intelligently. Also please let us know about
any clear discussions from the engineering literature.
Maybe there aren't any, since NMR is rather unusual.
We appreciate any help.
