Hi Margaret

We have the NMR and EPR facilities and 1 professor that has an NMR and DNP
on the recovery system. We have gas totalizers in line so we can calculate
the gas recovered from the professor and from the NMRs and the EPR facility.
We started by estimating our expected efficiency at 80% and then cost of gas
cylinders to make that up, and then cost of regular maintenance items such
as compressor parts/filters and coldheads. Divide this by the expected liters
needed in a year and got a starting price per liter. We adjusted this over
the years as we got real numbers for things now (3 years operational. We
weight the liquid dewars as they go out and come back in to get a total used
and then we read the totalizers each month. We give a credit back to the user
for the gas we recovered and subtract that from the liters used to get the
bills each month. Currently we are at ~$18 per liter and a credit of ~$13 per
liquid liter eq of gas recovered.

Hope that helps
Greg
