Hi Bill,

This should be pretty easy to do. We have done it a number of times. You need to complete a system upgrade form, which I have attached, and send it to Bruker. Basically, it assesses the need for any hardware upgrades that might be required for the change. This is not likely, but could be necessary depending on your exact hardware and configuration. Following that, Bruker can configure your new workstation and it will basically be ready to plug and play. One hint: if you will use a new workstation we do NOT recommend using a PC that you buy unless it is the exact model approved by Bruker and, most importantly, has the same graphics card as they would use. The little money that you would save by doing this, in our experience, is just not worth the potential hassle and downtime if there are problems. We have concluded that it is best to buy it through Bruker and have them set it up.

Good luck,

Greg

Colleagues:
The new instrument manager for the Chemistry dept.. is interested in
upgrading from XP to a Centos system. Besides getting the appropriate
TopSpin software, are there any other issues of which he needs to be
aware? Has anyone done this type of upgrade inhouse? Any suggestion
will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Bill Jarrett
