Dear All,

Regarding 2.2K pumped high field magnets using needle valve control of the cooling.

As I only had experience with the gen II Oxford pumped magnet, do other pumped magnets use a needle valve? Do modern instrument require pumped magnet adjustments?

We used the needle valve to control the cooling of the lower bath at ~ < 2.2K. I’m wondering if anyone has knowledge about “exercising” the needle valves regularly to prevent buildup/contamination from clogging the needle and/or valve itself?

Does anyone excise the range of the valve to maintain the full operation of the valve?

All the best,
Ryan
