Bruker Avance II and Varian Direct Drive FID formats

I understand that FIDs produced by the new Bruker Avance II systems
(DRU/RXAD based) are not compatible with older versions of TopSpin,
XwinNMR, or third party software (i.e. SpinWorks) without conversion.

Does anyone know the nature of these FIDs, and how they can be processed?
I would really to include this processing into SpinWorks without the annoyance of
a data conversion step.

Varian's new Direct Drive systems are doing a high speed digitization of the IF
signal rather than conventional quadrature detection. Does this result in a
different FID type as well? Or are the data converted to conventional complex
(quadrature) FIDs before being saved on disk?

Thanks
-Kirk
