Dear colleagues,
I am currently checking my helium recapture system and found out, that a very old Oxford magnet in our system is not contributing at all to our helium recovery. With a helium sniffer we could narrow it down to the quench ball valve (see picture). This valve can be triggered very easily and I am wondering, if it can be sealed at all with some grease and a new O-ring. Therefore, it would be great to hear your expertise to this ball valve:
Did you have such a ball valve (exactly the same) and running a helium recapture/recovery system?
If yes, how did you manage to get it not leaking?
Does anybody know if there are other quench valves on the market which you can install at this connection or which can be installed between the backpressure valve and the magnet?
Best regards,
Sebastian
