800, 600 and 500 MHz and Bruker 500 MHz NMR systems, and to Prof Michael
Overduin's protein expression and analysis laboratory in the Institute for
Cancer Studies. The Henry Wellcome Building for Biomolecular NMR
Spectroscopy has been established by The Wellcome Trust as a new national
NMR facility for the United Kingdom (see
http://www.cancerstudies.bham.ac.uk/Research/NMR/). The positions are
supported by the BBSRC, Cancer Research UK and Wellcome Trust. Birmingham is

the physical sciences, and have experience with maintaining of NMR
spectrometers or other analytical instrumentation.
The six Postdoctoral Fellows will study the structure, interactions and
mechanisms of proteins involved in signal transduction, membrane trafficking
and cancer biology. Appointees will have access to the NMR spectrometers and
will develop collaborative structural biology projects. The ideal
candidates should have a Ph.D. degree, excellent communication and
presentation skills, and demonstrated experience in the area of protein NMR.
This includes acquisition and analysis of multi-dimensional NMR data,
implementation of NMR pulse sequences, and interpretation of NMR data for
structure determination and ligand interactions.
The Laboratory Technician will operate the protein expression and analysis
facility, and will be involved in collaborative protein structure/function
studies. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent,
