Hi,
We recently transitioned from a linux box to a Windows 10 machine running Topspin 4.0.2. Does anyone have cogent advice concerning best practices in:
1) automated backup of data, preferably to the cloud, for a Windows 10 machine.
2) allowing users with their own copy of Topspin to access data on the spectrometer workstation. We’d like to do this in such a way that these users work with a local copy of their data and they do not have the ability to change the original data set on the spectrometer workstation.
3) allowing remote users beyond our institution’s firewall the ability to transfer data out from our spectrometer workstation to their own copy of Topspin.
Concerning (3), I know the Topspin has the capability to email an ZIP archive of data if the user has the presence of mind to do so before they leave the instrument. Is an ftp server useful for “pulling” data off the instrument? In any event, we really want to avoid users sticking usb sticks into the spectrometer workstation...
If you could enlighten me directly, I will summarize and post what I learn.
Thanks,
Hal
