Thank you everyone for the advice. Running a blank was the most crucial piece.
Some background: Way back in Sept 2022 we had to send our cryostat back
to Oxford for repair. When in returned in January 2023, it had been fully
disassembled and I did my best to align it correctly. There are at least
three adjustments to make and I screwed one up badly.
In short, I had the temperature sensor way to high and in the resonator.
That background signal was the temperature sensor. Once I set the
height of the resonator on the cryostat correctly, the background signal
was gone.
