Yes, you will need a quench vent, piped to the outside.. The Oxford 800 here
has a big flange (about 6" inside diameter) on the dewar, and this is
connected to a run of ~8" plastic pipe to a hole in the wall to the outside.
When this magnet quenches, it is a sight to behold (and hear). The dogwood
tree about 15' away from the vent outside experienced an "early autumn" when a
bunch of its foliage got quick-frozen by the first of two (or three, I forget)
quenches experienced during charging about 4 years ago. This magnet is all by
itself in a room about 18' square.
