Dear AMMRL Members,
The steering committee continues its longstanding, stated policy of
allowing vendors to have one person from each company to be on the list.
These vendors are informed that the list is not to be used as any form of
advertising. Posts to the list are not automatically sent out; in the case
of vendors, they will be rejected if the post is a violation of this
policy. We realize that it can often be a matter of personal opinion as to
what does, or does not, constitute advertising and we ask vendors to
continue exercising their past, excellent judgment. There was a point in
time just after Agilent closed its NMR doors that the Steering Committee
discussed this and decided to let all the folks who provide aftermarket
service who wanted to do so list the services they offer in whatever detail
they desire. After that initial rush there were a couple of companies who
asked for the same consideration. It was agreed and they were asked to keep
it brief. We believe it is not in the best interests of all members,
especially new ones, to assume an awareness of third-party vendors and
don’t plan to categorically deny them access for reasonable posts to the
list.
