I am probably not providing much useful information because the conversion
occurred before I arrived here. We have a 200 that used to be an IBM
spectrometer with Bruker probes. I am not sure of the differences between a
Bruker console and an IBM console. Anyway about 6 years ago it was
converted to a Varian Unity 200. As you pointed out the original Oxford
magnet needs to be modified. I do not know the details of this
modification. But it seems to me the Bruker probes are shorter than Varian
ones, so one has to raised the Varian probe's mounting plate a little more
than usual. What else Varian did I do not know.

The instrument also had solid state probes built by Doty, of which the probe
body was now too short and had to be extended by Doty. But everything
eventually works.

The instrument has been working fine. This morning's linewidth specs was
0.35/6/13.
