Dear AMMRL people in the know,
I would like to take 1H indirect HMQC 29Si spectra on a Varian Inova
instrument at 500 MHz. It appears this requires a barrel filter to pass
the 99.295 MHz 29Si frequency and block the low band amplifier noise
generated while it is in the unblanked CW mode, to avoid rewriting the
standard HMQC type sequences. There appear to be 2 filters obtainable
from Varian that should work, a BE-92-9-6DB filter covering 87.5 MHz to
96.5 MHz for $650.00 and a BE-95-12-8DB filter covering 89 MHz to 101
MHz costing $1,600.00. Are there any thoughts on the relative merits of
either filter. The relative cost disadvantages are clear. Are there any
other sources for these filters? I look forward to your thoughts
especially from anyone who has done these experiments with 29Si.
