Yes, the bag inflates only a little during normal boiloff, and it could just
be from the helium gas that cycles over the purifier sensor coming back into
the bag, since when I compress every few days, the pressure in the medium
storage cylinders doesn't increase from day to day. I am also wondering
about a small leak in the bag, or through the relief check valve of the bag.
Since you have a CryoMech system, you must have the white tubing that connects
from the manifold where the gas comes in from the building and then gets
redirected to the bag. Anyway, this white tubing leads all the way
to the purifier, and I believe is necessary for the purity sensor, but I'm
not totally sure.
Interesting to hear about your Aeroquip connectors giving you trouble.
I'm always wanding around them, though haven't had issues there yet.
A couple folks suggested bad o-rings, particularly at the top of the magnet.
I've wanded up there, but didn't detect any significant helium leaks.
The purifier doesn't run continuously very frequently. My colleagues
did an MCD run starting mid February to about mid March, and a bunch of helium
ran through the system, so the purifier was running. We don't have an
'automatic' purifier, rather we have to regenerate the trap manually, but
the frequency of course depends on how much liquid we produce.
