Hi Alex,
I have not had your particular problem, but have fished tubes out using a
small diameter wooden dowel which I wrap a few times with tape and then create
a loop just smaller than the inside of the bore, sticky side in, looped
around at least twice. I then insert with the dowel against the side of
the bore until I reach the spinner and then twist to catch the tube (not too
firmly in case the tube is cracked or partly broken near the spinner). Then
lift it out, gently in case there are glass shards near the edge of the
spinner. If it binds at all, set it down and try again so you don't lose
the tube or scratch the inside of the bore. Inspect for glass pieces before
you lift the sample completely out, so they don't fall back down the bore.
Tape with sticky side out works well for retrieval of pieces. This works
if the tube is not broken down in the spinner. Otherwise, you don't have
much choice but to remove the probe and clean everything out.

Hello All,
The Young tube got broken on the way out from the magnet. I was able to get
the broken top of the tube, but the rest (the tube plus the spinner) got stuck
inside. The emergency red button does not bring the tube out; neither does
the "lift" BSMS button. Is there any other way to solve the problem other
than taking the probe out and pull the spinner out? Any suggestion is
appreciated!
