I'll agree with Gerry on all his key points, which I wont quote back in.

Very brief opinion of my own, having used ZZNET extensively, and NMRnet briefly:

Both work as well as the other, if you know what you're doing. I continued
using ZZNET after NMRnet was released, as I had conversion programs to
Felix set up to handle the byte-swapped ZZNET data. However, with ZZNET,
you need a fair deal of experience with the software, and must know what
you're doing, or the whole thing can crash - reboot PC and Aspect.

NMRnet is far more user friendly, and will tolerate mistakes and wrong
inputs by inexperienced users. It is far more preferable for use in a
routine lab with a large number of occaisional users. Also, the data comes
out in the more generally useful Bruker Kermit format. (Ready for direct
conversion by WIN-NMR, Nuts, Felix, Felix for Windows, VNMR, UXNMR etc.) If
you are setting up a new system, I'd recommend NMRnet.

As you may have gathered from my above email address, I've moved onto newer
and better things.... (ie. no Aspect 3000's!! Oh, the joy to ftp from an
X32!!)

I do still hold all the relevant info, I think including NMRnet. However,
it is not set up for ftp, so I'd recommend getting it from Kansas or
Ohio-State as Gerry mentioned. Otherwise, I'll have to uuencode and mail
the stuff.

If any other Australian/NZ local group is wanting to set up a system, I
could still offer vague advice (its about a year since I've had to play
with cables) or dob in an Australian colleague who could answer questions

Good luck!
