ENI 5100L-NMR amplifiers

Our ENI 5100L-NMR power amplifier on the VXR500S has failed yet again
and ENI has been repairing it for a week or so and finds that the new
rev of their boards will blow the next stage of the amp - this costs
another $1200 or so to fix and so on down the chain. Our question to
the net is:

1) Has anyone replaced this amplifier with another currrently available
amplifier?

2) Has anyone done Varian's 3 amp to 2 amp upgrade successfully.

3) Does anyone have experience repairing the ENI 5100L amplifiers -we
have a new in-house engineer and feel that we could do the fix here?

4) Does anyone have a used or new one that they would like to rent or
sell if you are not using it at the moment?

Thank you for any help and or advice. We are desperate to get our carbon
back in use.
