Vacuum Leak Checker information....

Happy New Year, AMMRLers!

I have an associate here in Lincoln who has a Vacuum Leak Checker
which uses a Helium Detecting Mass Spec. to sense leaks (much like
those many of us are familiar with). The problem is that they must
have the instrument calibrated with a "calibrated leak standard",
and the company which used to do this for them is out of business.
The former company was "DNF Vacuum Equip. Service Co." (I never heard
of them), out of somewhere in N.Y.

I thought one of you might have one of these beasts, and would know
the name/number of a company which would service and/or calibrate such
a beast. I know this isn't an NMR problem, but many NMR people are
lucky enough to have this sort of leak checking equipment lying around.

I would also be interested in any information regarding vendors of newer
leak checking equipment. One grad student here told me of a unit that
wasn't much bigger than a hand-held calculator, which could be put in-line
with a vacuum system to check for leaks....sounds interesting.

Any helpful comments/suggestions/advice would be appreciated!

Cheers, and HOW 'BOUT THEM HUSKERS! <Grin>
