Does anyone have any thoughts on an on going problem we have with the
spinner on a Varian UNITY 500. When the spinner has been turned off,
it is very difficult to restart. Entering the "spin" command causes
the instrument to make 3 half hearted attempts to semi eject the sample,
followed by a message that the sample is failing to spin. Opening the
acquisition window reveals that the software has retaliated by turning
the spinner off. It is neccesary to operate spinner on/off twice to
get an auidable click from the valve.
We have tried varing air pressure (the values were sensible anyway).
The instrument has recently been serviced.i. The bore tube was cleaned,
and probe alignment checked. The problem pre-dated the service.
Any thoughts?
