Ph.D. applicants are sought for a position in the NMR Facility at
ROSWELL PARK CANCER INSTITUTE. The successful applicant will assist
in the operation of NMR equipment (spectrometers include a WP-200,
AM-400 and AMX-600, and several UNIX workstations with NMR related
software). Expertise in modern pulse sequences and applications
of 3D techniques for determination of the solution structures of
biological molecules is essential. The applicant will assist users
in obtaining and analyzing NMR data, and insuring the design and
implementation of new techniques to solve biochemical problems.
Although the ability to repair the equipment is not required,
familiarity with RF circuits and electronics, minor troubleshooting
ability, and the ability to communicate with electronic
service/maintenance representatives is necessary. Other duties
include training students and postdocs to use NMR equipment, assist
in teaching NMR courses, and some administrative responsibility.
Preference will be given to those applicants whose research interests
complement existing programs. The position is immediately available
for a one year assignment, renewable for subsequent years contingent
