Summary of Varian vs Bruker Shimming

I would like to thank the many who responded to my inquiry regarding
the advantages/disadvantages of mouse (Varian) vs knob (Bruker) shimming.
I think that the opinions expressed can be summarized as follows:

For those who have significant experience with both systems, either there
is found no difference between the two methods of shimming, or the mouse
shimming method is preferred (although there were a minority who
disliked the mouse altogether). I found it interesting that the mouse
would actually be preferred, but this seems to be due to the ability
to change the shimming by a known amount with the mouse without having to
look at the shim value. I guess I can see how this might be an advantage, but
I'll just have to try it to see for myself how much of an advantage it is.

Obviously both shimming methods must work fine since a lot of good work is
done with both types of systems.
