Hi Al!

After having run MRI systems from across an ocean, I am readjusting to the
limitations of a public network! We have recently been added to the AMMRL list,
so I don't know the history of the CRT sheilding question, but I thought that I
would add this note on a source of MU metal which I've used in a previous
incarnation. (Using a small section of iron sewer pipe as a scope shield DOES
work with a 4T 1.25 meter bore magnet, but is a little too 'Dylan-esque' and
requires people who understand potential wells!) Enough said...

Gerald Sodaro (of the above Co.) had an article on 'Magnetic Sheilding for
CRT Displays' in "Electronic Packaging and Production" September 1984, which
they had had reprints for. They did supply both the MU sheet foil in various
thickness, or five side boxes for CRT (with a cord hole in the back).

Sorry, this is old info now as high tech goes, but it should get you
started if you need MU metal sheilding.
