Hi Folks,
I *think* I might have mentioned this in the past but there is no need
not to remind everyone from time to time.
The AMMRL Email list is a pseudo-moderated list. What I mean is that if
you send a message to ammrl_at_ammrl.org is does not go out right that
instant. Several things happen.
First there is a spam blocker in place. It is quite primitive but
*extremely* effective. If the subject of your message does not have
"AMMRL:" in it (no quotes) it goes into a junk folder where it sits
until I have time to take a look. This is not very often (as
demonstrated by the three messages today).
If you do use the AMMRL: secret word your message will sit in the inbox
until I get a chance to check for new messages. This is at least daily
but I try to check several times a day. I am six hours behind the East
Coast so if you post a message at 8:00 am EDT it is 2:00 am here and I'm
not likely review it for at least four hours.
Rules of thumb to remember:
If you post a message it will not appear immediately.
If you don't see your message within twenty-four hours check if you
included AMMRL:, if so email me as ask me to look for your email.
One final note. The AMMRL policy requests that there be no attachments
to emails posted to the list. If you have something that is important
you can reference it and interested folks can request the attachment or
if it is just text you can cut and paste the contents into the email.
Thanks for your understanding.
Walt
