Many thanks to those who replied to my query: Clemens Anklin, Brian
Breczinski, Rainer Haessner, Martha Morton, Greg Quintling, and Andy Soper.

Most agreed that a manostat is somewhat expensive and is likely more than we
need to solve this problem.

Two people think that simply replacing the outlet check valve may help or
solve the problem.

There was one suggestion to construct some sort of baffle system, which is
probably easy enough but not the first thing we'll try.

The most common response, however, was that adding an extra length of tubing
between the magnet and the outlet valve has solved this problem for several
people. The length suggested varies anywhere from a few feet to >100 feet of
hose. This is the cheapest and easiest solution and involves materials we
already have on hand.

One additional suggestion if simply adding extra tubing isn't completely
effective was to also try putting one or more not-too-complete cotton plugs
in the added tubing.

Cheers,
Andrew
