Hi Tracey,

I would echo Bob's sentiments as well as solution. I don't see how you would
safely use a ladder of any kind. However, beware with the aluminum scaffold,
the pins which hold the apparatus together are often steel, so keep the bore
covered. Also use care when removing the globes as they often have steel
retaining screws that can fall out and get caught by the field as well as may
be the bases of the bulbs themselves. LED is a good choice for longevity.
Don't want to do this very often.

All the best,
Rick

Hello Tracey,

First, let me say what a beautiful lab you have for your 800MHz magnet!
One of my laments about the ever shrinking stray fields from our larger magnets
is that we no longer build large spaces to showcase these instruments,
but instead we end up shoehorning them into smaller and smaller labs, sometimes
siting three or more magnets in the same space we used to have one.

To your question: I think that you could have some aluminum scaffolding
temporarily installed in order to change those overhead lights. I wouldn't
want to try to measure anything while this was going on, but it should be
possible.

I liked George's suggestion about LED lights. Maybe you can replace those
overhead fixtures with new ones which use LEDs?

Good luck,
Bob.

Hello all,

Seeking advice on non-magnetic apparatus useful in reaching heights with safety
and stability.

We are down to one working lightbulb! The issue is the ceiling is 20 ft. high,
we have an unshielded 800 MHz which surrounded by a 13.6 ft. x 13.6 ft. fiberglass
platform and six lights are seated just outside of the platform perimeter. The
lights are about 8 feet from a wall, so ladders are not an option. Picture attached.

Are scaffolding options available? Open to suggestions.
Thank you!
