Hello AMMRL,
It would be greatly appreciated if you could share how your institute /
company / university manages the cyber security of computers on your
instruments (do not have to be NMR spectrometers).
- When you purchase the instruments, do you use the instrument vendor's
PC or computers from your IT department?
- Are your instrument computers on your institution's intranet, do they
have access to the internet (if yes, with what restrictions)? Or do you
have a "special network" for instrument computers?
- Who is responsible for security policies, OS updates and security
scans, and who has the admin right to those PCs - you (i.e.
instrument managers) or your IT department?
- What are your system and data backup policies and procedures?
- Do you have other procedures and practices for regulatory compliance
(FDA, EPA, etc)?
Any other info / practices related to cyber security for instrument
computers in R&D labs or manufacturing facilities will be helpful as well.
If you wish to remain "anonymous", please send your response to me directly
(donghui_wu _at_ COLPAL dot COM). I will summarize and report back without
names.
Thank you!
Donghui
