Dear Rajan and All,

I don't have a glass blower for you but I do
appreciate your problem. I have had the same
problem and also I have had people breaking the
thermocouple also.

My solution has been to get a second heater and a
second thermocouple for our two work-horse BBO
and BBI old-style Bruker probes. Now we just
connect / disconnect the heater cable (by the way
there is no need to screw in the connector) and the
thermostat cable and there have been no more
breakages.

Of course the new-style Bruker probes with the
"square" base have a built in heater and
thermocouple and so they should be relatively
immune from such breakages.

Sincerely,

Andy
