Dear friends,

Recently we had a problem with our printers, and after remove the old
printer/plotter and install new ones with adddevices, the infamous
problem of "ladder text printing" appeared, that is, the fist line
printed ok, but each of the following lines will shift some distance to
the right until remaining text disappeared. I knew this group had
discussed the fix of this problem before, and it can be fixed by putting
a "text" keyword in a file, probably the /etc/printers.conf. I could not
find these emails from ammrl server. So if anyone has fresh memory or
have a hard copy on how to deal with it, I would greatly appreciate.

The printers.conf file on my SUN:

_default:\
printer-name:\
    :bsdaddr=printerIP, printer-name:\
    :description=:
plotter-name:\
    :bsdaddr=printerIP, plotter-name:

The printer is a HP4050N network printer.
Regards,

Wei
