importing spectra to a Macintosh

Dear All,

Has anyone found a convenient solution to the problem of importing
spectra into documents on a Macintosh computer?

We use Bruker XwinNMR for processing and can export as hpgl or
postscript (ps) from the main program or as encapsulated postscript
(eps) from XwinPlot. We are a mainly Macintosh department, but the
few PC users can import hpgl into MSWord. On a Mac the current method
is to export as postscript and then either import into Adobe
Pagemaker and use that to generate the document, or import and export
as eps into MSWord. The Pagemaker route works well, but the MSWord
route not so well as you can only print but not view the spectra.

I've searched in vain for a postscript or hpgl to emf or wmf
converter which might allow spectra to be viewed/edited in MSWord on
a Mac.

So far the alternative I've found is to use a SwanNMR on a Mac to
process the data, and this will export a type of eps which can be
viewed and scaled in Word.

I would prefer to find an option which didn't involve reprocessing
the data, even if another package was necessary to import then export
the spectrum.

We currently use all SGIs for data processing in the lab, but I would
consider providing a PC if that provided the easiest route. I suppose
the Windows version of XwinNMR would be an option, but licenses tend
to be expensive from Bruker.

Do any of the other PC/Mac NMR packages such as ACDlabs, Nuts etc,
allow import of spectra and then quick export as emf or wmf?

Any ideas welcome,

Regards,

Phil.
