Manager, Applications Laboratory (NM01-55)
Challenges include:
· Direct responsibility for management of the Palo Alto and Columbia applications labs.
· Includes scheduling/coordinating of demonstrations, preparation of expense budgets, management of global capital inventory and scheduling of product evaluations with R&D.
· Responsible for coordination of information among applications labs worldwide (Japan and Europe).
Your qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Physics is essential.
2. Ph.D. in Chemistry or Physics is also essential.
3. Eight (8) years experience in NMR, minimum.
4. Participates in applications developments, customer demos and training.
5. Strong verbal and written communications skills.

RF Engineer (NM01-59)
Challenges include:
· Design, troubleshoot, and refine the electromagnetic and physical performance of NMR probes, involving resonant and non-resonant circuits and structures in the 20 MHz to 1 GHz ranging from cryogenic temperatures to experimental high-temperature conditions.
· Document the design, testing and troubleshooting procedures and assist with the design transfer to manufacturing.
· Work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
· Interface with Customers, Suppliers, R&D, Manufacturing, Technical Support and Marketing.
Your qualifications:
1. BS in Engineering, Physics, or related field. Advanced degree preferred with two (2) years experience minimum.
2. Good written and verbal communication skills.
3. Demonstrated experience of RF technology/Electromagnetics. Knowledge of NMR and/or cryogenic technology is a definite plus.
4. Project management experience and familiarity with the process of putting technical designs into a production environment are a plus.
Supervisor, District Field Service (NM01-62)
Challenges include:
· Supervise regional Field Service Engineers, provide techno-management support, prioritize assignments, balance regional workload, manage customer issues, and perform employee performance evaluations.
· Promote the financial and technological advancement of the service organization while balancing delivery of high level customer support and support of global business unit initiatives. Direct the coordination of service and installation activities.
· Travel as necessary throughout region to monitor performance, promote the service operation, assist in the sales effort, and perform site evaluations.
· Exercise supervisory responsibility for training, employee development, and personnel issues such as hiring, terminations, salary actions, and workplace ethics.
Your qualifications:
1. BS degree in electrical engineering or related discipline; or equivalent trade school and experience.
2. Five (5) years minimum experience in customer service of electronic equipment.
3. Prior supervisory experience highly desirable.
4. In-depth knowledge of NMR/MRI systems or closely related technologies
5. Demonstrated excellent written and oral communications skills and leadership ability.
Applications Chemist (NM01-56)
Challenges include:
General responsibilities include demonstrations of the capabilities of Varian NMR products, providing raining courses and applications assistance (both on- and off-site), coordinating with R&D on hardware and software product evaluations, assisting in new product definition and feasibility studies, generating data of promotional materials.
Your qualifications:
1. Advance degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Physics with two (2) years plus advanced NMR experience.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
3. Computer programming, pulse sequence programming skills
4. Laboratory experience desirable.
