I've heard that communications problems between aquisition and host
computers can sometimes be caused by phase/timing differences between
different legs of your 120 V circuit. If they're on the same circuit,
this obviously couldn't be the case, but if they're on different
circuits, you should get an electrician to make a swap at the breakout
box so that both circuits are on the same leg.
