Dear members of the AMMRL list,

a few weeks ago we introduced a new NMR information
server (http://www.nmr.de). This is furthermore under
construction but nevertheless should be useful
immediately.
We want to introduce new services and I am looking
for ideas, material and maybe participation.
1. One part of the server is an advertisement system.
You are invited to use it (without fee, of course).
Advertisements remain valid for one month and become
deleted automatically after this time. Useable for
jobs and to offer/sale parts.
2. The mirror part should contain informations from all
three manufacturers of NMR spectrometers. Unfortunately
Jeol refused to mirror their server and for our request
to Varian we got no answer until now. We hope, this will
change soon.
3. Personally I want to introduce one menu item, maybe
called "Laboratories". This should contain pictures
and description from existing laboratories, descriptions,
how to solve such problems like temperature stability,
or uninteruptable power supply ..., furthermore
problems like vibrational damping, air pressure control
(changed air pressure due to opened doors or simple
over longer measuring times is one source of T1 noise),
organization of the routine measurement ...
Here my personal example (in german only):
http://www.org.chemie.tu-muenchen.de/people/rh/haus/geschichte.htm
Maybe you have comparable material of interest for other users.

One last remark: please do not use the email-System of the
server now. The complete Munich university net became
spam protected today and we fear problems with the special
domain name of that server. If necessary, use my address
or that of the administrator (Markus.Busold@ch.tum.de).
And now, please excuse this somewhat long text.

Best regards

Rainer Haessner
