AMMRL: Varian automation, spin and eject

We have an Inova system with an SMS robot that has developed the quirk of
not ejecting reliably when the sample has been spinning when the ejection
starts--the sample rises a short distance off the air bearing and then
won't come any further. Of course this causes any automation queue in
progress to fail. If the spinning is turned off prior to ejecting the
sample manually, ejecting is 100% reliable, as is spinning. The air
bearing is clean and all the airflows are adjusted.

1. Has anyone seen this problem before and figured out how to solve it?

2. Is the sequence of operations for a sample change defined in a
user-editable file, such that I could set the spin to be off prior to
sample eject, and then turn it back on after the next sample is inserted?

Thanks for any advice,
