AMMRL: definition of concentration...

Hi there !
    Thank you so much  for this overwhelming response in enlightening me about this basic but important topic.  Based on your answers,  although we can write the formula in different flavors,  the definition I was seeking i.e. concentration expressed in mM (milli molar) can be written as (under S.T.P.) :

concentration of solute in mM =  {[weight of solute in mg]*1e3} / { [volume of solvent in mL ] * [molecular weight] }
 

Hope I didn't bungle it this time !
