AMMRL: Color printers

Greetings!

Its time to retire an ancient HP Laser Jet on one of my Varian INOVAs,
so I was contemplating whether the utility of having an available color
printer if the need arose for a color plot here and there would warrant
its purchase. Currently Varian shows several supported color printers -
HP CP1700, HP LaserJet 4600, and a Lexmark Optra (which appears is no
longer made?)

I don't think the use of color printers has been recently been
summarized here, so my questions to you (Varian users) are:

1) Do you use a color printer?

2) If so, what one(s)? (Include any not above if their setup was
reasonable)

3) If so, what software (vnmr 6.1 vs vnmrJ) do you use to plot from?

4) What are your feelings about the cost/life of the ink consumables and
overall reliability, relative to a black and white Laser Jet -
particularly if you still primarily print B&W spectra

Thanks, and I'll summarize your comments - hopefully before the New
Year!
