Job Description:
Amgen's Discovery Analytical Sciences group in Boston, MA seeks an
outstanding scientist with a strong background in small molecule NMR
spectroscopy and structure elucidation. The successful candidate will apply
modern NMR techniques to challenging structural problems and in addition
carry out novel research in the area of NMR applications in drug discovery.
Additional responsibilities include the implementation of new hardware and
software technologies, data system management, oversight of the local
open-access NMR instrumentation, and helping chemists with data acquisition
and spectral interpretation. The successful candidate will participate in
cross-site multidisciplinary project teams and as a member of the global NMR
research community.
Experience:
The minimum requirement for this position is a Ph.D. in chemistry or related
discipline and 5-10 years experience in NMR, preferably in an industrial
setting. Scientific excellence, the ability to work within a team and strong
interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Expertise with Bruker
instrumentation is critical, and experience in developing applications with
hyphenated techniques (LC-NMR, LC-MS), metabolite ID and sample-limited NMR
analysis would be a plus.
