AMMRL Server Problems..and..Not Another Survey?!!

Dear All:

First, in case anyone noticed, AMMRL was offline for a couple of days
because the server decided to melt-down its motherboard!! Thanks to the
good people at the TCE Company (PC-hardware company in Chicago) I had it
back up in less than 48 hours (new main-board, new CPU, new
memory,...etc.). I hope nobody was overly inconvenienced by this little
hiccup.

Secondly, I find myself feeling like I might be in a position of having
to justify why I feel the need to attend ENC. Has anyone considered the
question: "why would an NMR manager need to attend ENC"? It sounds kind
of silly, but if the question is asked, I thought it might be good to
have a well-prepared answer. After thinking about the many aspects of
the week-long ENC, I prepared some simple questions that rate various
aspects of the "ENC experience" from (1) least important to (5) most
important. I consulted with others in the group to help decide which
questions to ask, and surely my list isn't complete.

If you would like to participate in my rather unscientific survey about
which aspects of an ENC are most important to NMR facility
Managers/Directors, you can quickly do so by going to my web-form at:
http://chemnmr.colorado.edu/ammrl/ENC.html . There is also a link to
the survey at http://chemnmr.colorado.edu/ammrl . The questions each
have simple radio-buttons to click to "cast your votes". I will allow a
few weeks for people to provide input, and then I will find a way to
summarize the results. I feel that these answers might help me in
discussions with my superiors, and others might find the answers
interesting (if not useful).

If you aren't interested in this, please don't feel any obligation to
complete the form.

Best Regards,

-Rich Shoemaker.
