Dear Guillermo,

Your problem reminds me of of something that occured here a couple of
years ago. I bought some third part memory for our O2 and restarted the
thing. Eventually the filesystem screwed up for those users using it, it
looked like some kind of hi/lo byteswap in some files (the most
important, well where was now that recent backup?). After many moons
(reinstalled systems and a brand new disk under warranty) someone
suggested that SGI memory and third part (supposedly compatible) memory
may not work well together. Sure enough when we left just the SGI memory
in the O2 it worked fine. So was the case when just the 3rd part memory
was in there (it is there now).

Have you recently 'upgraded' the memory? Also there was an issue earlier
that the R5000 O2 did not allow for more memory than 512 if a particular
patch was not installed (I don't think I ever figured out which patch to
use...hm).

Have a good peaceful weekend!

73, Peter
