Hi all,

We had a major renovation about a decade ago in which our organic teaching
lab and instrument rooms where the floor plan of the latter was changed. We
had to move the AVII400 system and de-energized and stored the magnet and
spectrometer. We looked into a live move but were advised against it. We
have an Anasazi EFT-60 permanent magnet system in a different part of the
floor that we use for first semester organic teaching. We hobbled along with
that while the renovations completed. The two instruments are now housed
together happily. We have no water issues nearby, though we are in a basement
that has had flooding problems in the past, but those have never reached
the instrument room, thankfully. I have since heard several folks describe
moving the magnets live but at the time it seemed like too much of a risk.

All the best,
Rick
