Hello Genevieve,
Do you know where the water is coming from? In our old building we used to
get rainwater backing up through an emergency drain in the floor of one of
the NMR rooms (repurposed organic chemistry lab).
Eventually they installed a check valve and that finally put an end to me
and our technician Sylvie needing to come in and shop-vac up a small pond
every once in a while (usually Saturday or Sunday morning ...)
We don't have sensors in lab, but at home, I have this sensor:

Never had actual flood, but the tests I did worked as it said on the box.
