Open Position – Research Instrumentation Facility Director, University
of Nebraska Lincoln
The Department of Chemistry is committed to enhancing the quality of
research instrumentation and to creating an expanded facility to
incorporate more major instrumentation and capabilities for
characterizing the structures of molecules and materials. The newly
hired Director is expected to lead these efforts, manage the facility,
spearhead instrumentation proposals, train and assist users with the
design and implementation of experiments, communicate and introduce new
spectroscopic techniques when relevant, and supervise an assistant
director and facility staff.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related discipline.
Significant experience with modern NMR methods and instrumentation and
excellent written and oral communication skills. Preferred
qualifications include managerial experience, both liquids and/or solids
NMR experience, NMR applications and methods development and
implementation, troubleshooting and maintaining NMR instrumentation, and
grant writing experience. This position is a non-tenure-track faculty
position.
