Roche Palo Alto (
http://paloalto.roche.com/) is recruiting for a NMR
Group Leader.
The incumbent will provide scientific leadership and management for NMR
staff and use state-of-the-art instrumentation for structural
elucidation of drug candidates, intermediates, related impurities, and
metabolites. The successful candidate will be a site resource by
applying both traditional and innovative NMR techniques in the drug
discovery process. Development and implementation of new NMR techniques
in support of the drug discovery process is essential. The individual
will represent Analytical Chemistry on multidisciplinary project teams,
providing spectroscopic support in moving novel medicines into the Roche
portfolio. The successful candidate will posses a Ph.D. in chemistry
with 3+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience. Strong
communication skills are essential.
A familiarity with Bruker Avance spectrometers, LINUX, Windows XP, SGI
UNIX, XWin-NMR, and TopSpin is a plus. Knowledge of cGMP and 21 CFR part
11 compliance is beneficial.
Roche Palo Alto has the following NMR instrumentation: Bruker Avance
spectrometers. One each 600 MHz (with Daltronics HPLC-MS and Protasis
microprobe), 500 MHz (with CP-MAS), 400 MHz (with BEST), and four 300
MHz spectrometers; all have sample changers. Two 300 MHz spectrometers
are open-shop.
