We have an old (circa 1984) GE QE-300 with Tecmag MacNMR upgrade (1994?)
that we are thinking of moving to our new NMR Facilities in a new building.
We are trying to find a reliable company that can carefully, gently and
inexpensively =) move this old reliable creature. Unfortunately, because
of its age, some of the console boards are not as robust as they once
were, and the connections between them and the back-plane of the cage
is on the loose side. Hence we have concerns that it might not survive
a move. Opinions?
Ideally we will find the money to upgrade/replace this magnet, and we
are working on that angle, too, but we first need to establish the cost
of moving it, and who might be able to do it.
Figuring out who best to move it is made more difficult since it is
an elderly, "hybrid" machine which is not really supported by Bruker
any more. (When last I checked, Bruker had only one engineer left who
still knew these instruments.)
Thanks in advance,
Gary Strahan
