Colleagues:
One of my users has an SGI (Indigo-2 running Irix 6.5.13) that he
would like to get VNMR6.1B or C running on. Everything seems to go
smoothly except that the graphic colors (the spectrum, etc.) in the
graphing window are not correct...they are grey and quite faint.
Actually, if you watch carefully then you can see the background
windows "flash" color and the image in the graphic window appears for
a moment and then "flashes" out whenever the mouse is moved into or
out of the graphic screen. I should point out that if one uses the
SGI to host the VNMR program and then runs an X-server on another
computer (not an SGI, we have just one) then everything works just
fine. So whatever is happening is related to display of VNMR6.1B or
C graphics on the SGI screen 0,0.
VNMR 5.3B works fine on the SGI console (0,0). It is just 6.1B and
6.1C that are having problems. ??? This would be okay except that
6.1 has nice features that would be missed in the older 5.3B for data
processing.
Has anyone encountered this and found a fix for it? I suspect some
sort of color table problem but nothing I've done has helped.
Thanks. I will post a summary, of course.
