The Chemistry Department of the University of Michigan is searching for
an NMR Facility Manager to help oversee its facility. An excerpt of the

The Chemistry Department's NMR Facility consists of 7 spectrometers (1
Inova 400; 2x Varian MR400; 1 Varian vnmrs 500; 1 Bruker Avance Neo 500
with a Prodigy probe; 1 Varian vnmrs 600 and 1 Varian vnmrs 700) and 4
Linux workstations. Notice that the SQUID spectrometer mentioned in the
webpage is currently decommissioned.
Required Qualifications*
PhD in Chemistry and five or more years working knowledge of NMR
instruments and its techniques, including maintenance, calibration,
troubleshooting and repair. Demonstrated ability to interact
professionally with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff by
providing high-level customer service is essential. Ability to work
independently in collaborative environment. Ability to work with
variety of people internal and external to the University, including
international service engineers and instrument manufacturers. General
knowledge of computing environments, especially Linux, and financial
reporting/oversight. Excellent verbal and written communication and
interpersonal skills are necessary.
