Good Morning / afternoon everyone,

I have run into this problem before. One thing that is worth checking is the back of the tune display (you’ll have to open the tune box for that): sometimes its board or some of its cables get loose.
>From several conversations I had with Varian engineers, Mtune is more reliable than the manual tuning method anyway.

Good luck
Best Regards,

Hélène

I'm having a bit of a problem tuning on our Inova 600.

The tune display located between the two preamps refuses to read anything other than 000. Everything else appears to work correctly:

The red LED flashes when a cable is connected
When I change the channel selector, the display lights up, and the relay clicks inside the console, and it reads 000
Mtune (used to be Qtune) works fine and the probe can be tuned

Mostly this is an annoyance since I can use Mtune, but I'd prefer myself and my users not have to turn a monitor around and squint across the lab for every sample that needs tuning.

I've tried rebooting the console, power cycled the cardcages, made sure everything was good and tight, and reseated the ribbon cable from the magleg to the display.

AskTAC suggests that I may need to replace the display ("Unity+/Inova tune meter on dual preamp module", P/N 7660007300) which makes sense, but I'd like to rule out other possibilities – the meter not getting the right values to display, the channel selector doing something strange, etc.

Before I order a part from Agilent that may or may not fix this, does anyone have suggestions for any troubleshooting steps I may have missed?

Thanks,
Andrew
