Dear AMMRL members,

I would like to get some input from the NMR community who has had the opportunity/need to swap their pump(s) with their pumped magnet system, particularly the Oxford 800 magnet at 2.2 K using BOC-Edwards RV-5 pumps. One of the two pumps has been a leaking a small amount of oil over a period of time and we have been advised to swap the pump immediately with an identical pump. So, my question is whether it can be done easily or should it be done by one of the Oxford engineers? It would help us greatly to decide if we can get some feed back as to the pros and cons of doing it ourselves. What are the precautions that we should take if we do it ourselves?

Thank you all for your help,

Sam Arumugam
