Hi Ken,
You may need to update the FIELD value in the edlock table.
I know this was the case for older hardware/software, and may still be the
case for your AV3.
Open edlock, and you should see the value for field. This
is the value that the spectrometer expects for CDCl3.
Next, load a sample in CDCl3 such as the ethylbenzene standard
and lock.
Once locked, check the value for field in the BSMS display.
If it is significantly different from the value in the edlock table, then update
the FIELD value in the edlock table (there should be a button or menu to update
the FIELD). You may be prompted to enter the NMR administrator password.
Then load a sample in methanol -d4 and try to lock.
It should now lock on the CD3 signal instead of the OD. If not, then
you may need to change another entry in the edlock table, but try this first.
Good luck,
Bob.

Subject: [AMMRL] MeOD lock issues on Avance III TS3.6.5 #Bruker
Ok, recently all of my MeOD samples are failing to lock on my Prodigy
TCI in an Avance III running TS3.6.5. These samples lock fine on other instruments.
I can manually set the field and it will lock, but as soon as it locks on another
solvent with another sample, it's unable to apparently find the field automatically
with MeOD. As far as I can tell, the lock phase is ok. 2H tune is spot on.
Any suggestions?
